其实书里除了男女情，写兄弟情也动人，开头部份有一处情节是王宏（还是王辉？）输钱了拿保国撒气，书香知道后替保国出头，跟年纪比自己大的王宏扭打在一起；书香焕章带着保国打鸟，放烟花，特地留心嘱咐，盯着他不要走下堤坝；还有保国找书香玩，找不到就生气，还跟灵秀告状；保国这个角色总让人想起小时跟在我们屁股后面的小兄弟。保国父母常年出国，而且是各玩各的，根本没有尽到父母责任，更加遑论家庭温暖，这也为保国的自杀埋下伏笔，保国的自杀是最让我伤感和唏嘘的一个情节，“要是保国还在多好”也是书香和焕章最大的意难平吧。
